ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michael Gene Buettner is a native of Lima, Ohio, and a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying in 1978, and is now a registered surveyor in Ohio. He is a principal of Kohli and Kaliher Associates, Inc., a surveying and engineering firm in his home town. Mike and his wife Tammy reside in suburban Lima, and have two children—Michaela Noelle and Michael Karl. Mike's fondest memories of the Lincoln Highway date back to 1965, when he would ride in the back of his family’s red 1962 Pontiac Tempest station wagon from Delphos to Fort Wayne, a one-hour trip to visit his Grandpa Hittle at the Veteran's Hospital.
